Hi, I’m Josh Ottmann owner and founder of Ottmann Detailing. I’ve always had a passion for cars ever since my parents gave me a diecast metal, 1/18th scale model of a 1957 black Corvette for my 16th birthday. Later that year I ended up with a 1987 Nissan Sentra that I couldn’t seem to stop cleaning. My first detailing experience started with eleven years worth of grime and dirt build up in the engine bay of that Nissan which I spent over two weeks bloodying my knuckles cleaning with merely a wash cloth and some soapy water.
Nine years later in 2004 when I purchased my first real Corvette I realized I had to take my detailing to a whole new level. I learned about two-bucket washing, claybaring and ultimately bought a Porter Cable Random Orbital Buffer (ROB) to properly care for my beautiful black Corvette.
Now, what really launched me into my future career as a full time professional automotive detailer was a 12 years long crush I had on the “girl of my dreams”…..Elizabeth finally decided to give me the time of day and I soon realized I would need a diamond ring to put on her finger. So I started claybaring, buffing and cleaning interiors of cars for money. As I realized the great need for proper car care and how much I loved perfecting the depth and shine in the paint the list of cars grew larger and larger till eventually this became my full time passion…and thus was the beginning of Ottmann Detailing.
Now with regular customers branching all the way from Houston, Waco, Wichita Falls, Dallas and Fort Worth and a hand full from out of state, I stay busy typically booked out two to three weeks ahead. Many of my regular customers enjoy the variety of processes I offer ranging from weekly washings, to monthly and bi-monthly waxing along with the three to six month full detailing and buffing jobs as well as some scratch removal and new car preparations. Some will even combine processes to get the absolute best care their car requires to maintain that perfect depth of reflection and incredible shine their beautiful cars deserve for years to come.
